My story

I'm Shayan, I'm 13, and I speak English with a British accent. When my cousins in Pakistan asked me to help them with English, I realised kids learn faster from another kid. So I started making short, fun lessons, and now I teach kids all over the world.

Why I teach

I know how scary it feels to speak English in front of people. My lessons are short, friendly and full of real words you can use the same day. If I can help one shy kid say 'Hello, my name is…' with a big smile, that's a win.

Proud moments

  1. Winning my school's public speaking competition in Year 7

  2. Getting a Head Teacher's award for helping new students settle in

  3. Reading a poem I wrote in front of the whole school assembly

  4. Teaching my little cousin to read his first English book

Me and cricket

My cricket hero
Babar Azam, because he stays calm under pressure and makes batting look easy
  • My best moment

Hitting a six off the last ball to win a match for my team

  • My funniest moment

I once dived for a catch, missed the ball completely and landed in a puddle. Everyone laughed, including me!

  • What cricket taught me

Cricket taught me teamwork and to never give up, even when the score looks bad.

A day in my life

  1. Morning

I wake up at 7, pray, have paratha and chai with my family, then rush for the school bus.

  2. At school

English and PE are my favourite lessons. At break I play cricket with my friends in the playground.

  3. After school

Homework first, then cricket practice twice a week. On other days I record lessons or build Lego.

  4. Weekends

A perfect weekend is a cricket match on Saturday morning, family dinner, and recording new lessons for you on Sunday.

A message for you

Hi! Thank you for learning with me. I can't wait to hear you speak English with confidence. Practise a little every day, and remember: you can do this!

My advice for you

Don't be scared of mistakes. Say it out loud, even if it's wrong. Every time you speak, your English gets better.

How I teach

I'm a kid, so I know what it feels like to learn something new. I teach the way I'd want to be taught.

  1. Short lessons

I keep my lessons short because kids can really listen for about five minutes. Then it's your turn.

  2. Say it with me

I say it, you say it out loud, and we do it again until it feels easy in your mouth.

  3. Real everyday English

We learn what you actually say: at home, at school, with friends and in the shop.

  4. A kid teaching kids

I'm only 13, so I never rush you and I never laugh at a mistake. Mistakes are how we learn.

What's in every lesson

Every lesson has the same simple shape, so your child always knows what comes next.

  1. 3 to 5 min

    A short class

One small idea from me, with pauses so you can say it with me.

  2. 8 words

    New words

Eight words or phrases, each with its meaning and an example sentence.

  3. Quiz

    A friendly quiz

A few quick questions to check it stuck. No pressure, and you can try again.

  4. Your turn

    Speaking practice

Say the sentences out loud and record yourself. This is where confidence grows.

  5. I can...

    A can-do goal

Every lesson ends with something you can now do, like “I can say my name and age.”

Your learning path

Start where you are. Each level builds on the one before, and Sound British helps at every level.

  3. Speaker

Sound like me: the British sounds, stress and rhythm.

How we keep children safe

You are trusting us with your child's learning time, so safety comes first in everything we build.

  • Parents are in charge

Children learn under a parent account. You choose the courses and see all progress. Kids have no emails or passwords.

  • No chat, no public profiles

Children can't message anyone, post comments or appear publicly. Only first names or nicknames are used.

  • Recordings stay private

Speaking practice is only visible to your family. It is deleted automatically after 90 days, and you can delete it sooner.

  • Live classes with a grown-up

Live classes need a guardian co-host, start muted, have no private chat and are never recorded without consent.

  • Checked before it goes live

Everything Shayan makes is reviewed before it is published. Every lesson has a report button that reaches us.

  • No tracking of children

We use simple, privacy-friendly analytics. No ads, no third-party trackers.
